About Colorado Geothermal Drilling
Colorado Geothermal Drilling is a family owned business with over 9 years experience in the HVAC industry, encompassing both conventional and geothermal systems.
Who we are
Colorado Geothermal Drilling is owned by Dan and Kari Rau. Dan Rau has a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). He is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited and has designed and installed geothermal projects throughout Colorado, Utah, and Iowa. Because of Dan's engineering background, he has a comprehensive understanding of geothermal systems and can help guide our clients to the system most appropriate for their heating and cooling needs. We are capable of performing a heat load calculation to determine loop field sizing as well as an economic analysis to show the geothermal system's payback over the life of the system. We strive to master leading edge technology and pride ourselves on the quality of services we commit to our clients.
Colorado Geothermal Drilling has successfully completed numerous projects throughout the Front Range, both residential and commercial, new construction and retrofits of existing structures. Our set-up is unique as we are able to access compact areas with our equipment, setting us apart from other drilling operations. With our vast knowledge of geothermal design and installation we can provide customers with valuable information, answering any questions, and providing the best energy efficient system to fit the clients' needs. The combination of this equipment and our personnel allow us to successfully and repeatedly complete numerous drilling projects along the Front Range.
Colorado Geothermal Drilling is a member of the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) and we are IGSHPA Accredited Installers.

It was a pleasure working with Colorado
Geothermal Drilling. They showed up when they said they would and they
finished the job in a timely matter. I am very impressed with their professional
approach to getting the work done; from their outstanding drill/grout
rig to their courteous staff. They took great care to make sure the jobsite
was clean and they were very careful to make sure the pipes were pressure
tested before placing them in the borehole. I would recommend them without
hesitation.
